In-Person NYC Meeting Schedule w/ ASL Interpreters

The following in-person meetings in NYC have ASL interpreters. PLEASE NOTE: These meetings are currently offering this service by request only. Unless otherwise listed, NYCDAC coordinates/hires the interpreters. Please make sure to read the meeting notes and interpreter info for each listing! MONDAY: Greenwich Village Group - 7:15pm-8:15pm

Location: St. Luke’s School - 487 Hudson Street

Meeting type/format: Beginners meeting. 3-speaker beginner panel - 3 speakers share for about 5 minutes each on a beginners’ topic of their choice. After the panel is finished, there is a short secretary’s break followed by a show of hands, beginning with those with 90 days or under. At 8pm, sharing is opened up to everyone present until the meeting closes at 8:15pm.

TUESDAY: NYU (Now You Understand) - 11am-12pm

Meeting type: Open meeting

Location: Judson Church - 239 Thompson Street

Meeting type/format: Beginners meeting. Focusing on Steps 1, 2 and 3. Meeting chair selects a passage of their choosing from the Big Book or 12 and 12 and shares for about 5 minutes. This is followed by a 3-minute silent meditation, and then pitch-styling sharing, where each person who shares chooses the next. At 11:30am, there is a secretary break, and then sharing continues until the meeting closes at 12pm.

FRIDAY: Red Door -7pm-8pm

Meeting type/format: Speaker meeting focused on the 9th Step Promises.

SATURDAY: Saturday Beginners -10:30am-11:30am

Meeting type: Closed meeting

Location: Holy Trinity Slovak Lutheran Church - 334 E. 20th Street

Meeting type/format: Beginner speaker meeting. A speaker will share for 15-20 minutes, followed by a show of hands, starting with those who have less than 6 months of sobriety. At 11am, there’s a secretary break, and then we return to a show of hands. At 11:15am, sharing is open to all and continues until the meeting ends at 11:30am.

PLEASE NOTE: Saturday Beginners has two meetings at this location at the same time - this is the beginner speaker meeting, which takes place on the main level (up a few stairs) in the church sanctuary. There is also a Big Book meeting in the basement. The interpreter is only provided for the beginner speaker meeting.

SUNDAY: High Noon -12pm-1pm

Location: LGBT Community Center - 208 W. 13th Street

Meeting type/format: Speaker meeting. Speaker will share for 15-20 minutes, followed by a show of hands. At 12:30pm there’s a secretary break, and then we return to a show of hands until the meeting ends at 1pm.
